Week 84: Signing Off - September 17, 2019

I can't believe that I had my last video chat with Elder Wright and I didn't take any screenshots. And he didn't send any pictures this week. So I decided to post some of Mom's Favorite Mission Pics with this post.

Hey everyone! If you haven't noticed, today is my last p-day, meaning this is my last email home. It's been a very interesting experience with my mission. Serving at home, coming up here, transferring around the place, but now things are finally at an end. I've really enjoyed being up here, and I know that I will continue to do so here on my last week. I hope you all realize that you've all been great with supporting me while up here, and I just hope you know that. In all, It's been great and I hope you all know how grateful I am for you. I hope you all have a wonderful week and remember to think about all the ways you've been blessed.
Till Then,
Elder Wright

Elder Wright also said that he went to the Hail and Farewell dinner where the Family History Missionaries say goodbye to those who will be returning home. He has also been working on the Capstone program which helps missionaries plan for their lives post-mission.

Week 83: Beginning of the End - September 10, 2019

Hey everyone! Things are still going well over here, especially because it's raining over here! I always enjoy it when it rains. Anyways, things are still pretty much the same here. It's not like they lower your workload when you have only two weeks left. The reason why I gave this email the title that it has is because I start Capstone tonight. One thing that this mission does for anyone who is finishing their mission, whether they be Young Elders or Senior Missionaries, is Capstone, which is a class that is suppose to help you with figuring out how to adjust to life after the mission. I don't know exactly what they'll be going over, but I'm fairly sure that it won't be too crazy. Regardless, this class means that I'm really close to the end, but I don't plan to slowing down and not doing anything, because if I do, things will slow to a crawl, and I don't want my final weeks to be like that. I hope you have a wonderful week and remember to pray for those who are suffering from the hurricane.
Till Then,
Elder Wright

Elder Wright also told me (Mom) that he went to a dinner to celebrate the mission's work in digitizing The Liahona Newsletter. It was at the home of some of the senior missionaries. He even received a copy of one of The old Liahona Newletters, so he said he has a piece of history!

I found a carton of milk with Nick's return date on it. So close!!!

Week 82: Last Holiday - September 3, 2019

Another happy screenshot from our visit!

Hey everyone, hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend! I didn't do too much, but I still had fun! I got to spend some time with another one of the elders and play games with him, which was an amazing experience, and then that night we had pizza and watched October Sky! It's been a while since I've seen that movie, but I'm glad I got to see it again because it's really good. Other than that, not much is happening here. Transfers were alright, since the only thing that changed for me was the apartment I'm in. Elder Greene (whose birthday is today, BTW), and I are now in a two-man apartment, so that's nice. We also have a new district leader, Elder Dunn, and he's really great. Anyways, I hope you all have an amazing week and remember to always have a prayer in your heart!

Week 81: One Month Till The End - August 27, 2019

Uncle Bryan ran into Elder Wright last week. It's so fun to get happy pictures by text!

Hey everyone! Not much has really happened this week, so don't expect this email to be very interesting. We do have transfers today, which I don't really know what's going to happen since everyone but my district leader got a moving notice. I will say things are going by real fast, and it's only becoming more and more really as the days go by. I'm still striving to focus on the mission, since I know that if I don't it will just make things go by a lot slower. I'm hoping this last month will be an amazing one and that I'm able to do well during it. I hope you all have a wonderful week and remember to have the spirit in your life.
Till Then,
Elder Wright

Week 80: More Illness and Crown Burger

We love getting surprise pictures texted to us from family, friends and even strangers. Kraig's cousin Ellen ran into Elder Wright at the Family History Library last week and was kind enough to send us a couple of pictures. Love that smile!

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful week, because my week was very average. It's not average in terms of what I did, but more because I didn't really do much. My companion got a little bit more sick last week, so we spent a large majority of the time at the apartment. In most other cases, this would be a nice opportunity to have fun and stuff like that, but the problem with that is that I could only do so much at the apartment, so in the end I got bored. Thankfully, Elder Greene is doing better, so now we are actually able to go to zone now. Not much has been happening there that much, so things are doing well on that front. We did do a fun district activity yesterday, though, so that was nice. What we did was we went to Crown Burger and had dinner there, which was great because I enjoyed the food. It's fairly similar to Apollo Burger, so not anything new or anything like that, but I still enjoyed it because I haven't had a good mushroom-swiss burger in a long time. After we ate, we played games for a while and then we went to bed. In all, things are going well here and I'm hoping thing continue to stay this great throughout the last five weeks of my mission. I hope you all have an amazing week and remember to pray often, because that is how we keep in touch with our Father in Heaven!

Week 79: The Plague Hits the District - August 13, 2019

I love this screenshot I took while we were visiting today. Not only does it show how Elder Wright has grown up, it shows how happy we are to be visiting with each other.

Hey everyone! Okay, so it has been somewhat of an interesting week, but that's mostly because of the illness that's been going around. Nothing too crazy, just a cold, but it has made things different for the last week. It all started on Thursday when I had a slight problem with swallowing, but that really didn't become a problem till the next day when it became painful to swallow and I became all congested. I saw the nurses and they told me that I should stay home till I got better and to not spread it around. Well, I did well on the first part, but the "not spreading it around" part failed because both my companion and another elder in the district caught what I had. There have been many exchanges of companionships over the last couple days because of this, so it has made things quite exciting. I'm currently doing well, only with a slight stuffy nose, my companion is doing well despite the lack of sleep, and Elder Spears (the other elder in my district who caught it) is almost fully recovered. It's events like these that really build your faith because even after you receive all the medicine and rest that you need, you still need to have the faith that you will be healed. I hope you all have a wonderful week and that you too can have some faith building experiences some time (but hopefully not cruddy ones like illness).
Till Then,
Elder Wright

Week 78: BEEEEEES!! - August 6, 2019

Hey everyone! Okay, so transfers happened last week, and I'm glad to say that I didn't move! The only thing that did change for me was that I now have a new companion, whose name is Elder Greene. The interesting thing is, I was his district leader for about 3 months, so I already new somewhat about him already! Things have been going really well for us and I'm glad to have him as my companion. As for other stuff, yesterday all the young elders in the mission got to go to the SLC Bees baseball game! It was really fun getting to watch the game, even though I'm not a sports fan and the Bees lost the game, but oh well. Anyways, things are going well here. I'm still in Discovery, I'm still in the same district, I have a great companion, and all in all things are good. I know that this is a blessing from Heavenly Father and I'm so thankful for this. I hope you all have an amazing week and remember the tender mercies that Heavenly Father has given you!
Till Then,
Elder Wright
